Eno & Gastro

Local Gastronomy

We really don’t know where to start… it is just amazing how tasty things are around here. From fresh veggies, meats, and fish to almondy sweets and gelato you will taste the difference of quality.

Here are a few classics:

If you feel like pasta it is a must trying the Busiate alla Trapanese, a Sicilian Pesto made with fresh tomatoes, basil and almonds.

Thanks to the Arabic influence of the island Couscous is one of trapani’s classic dish, usually cooked with tasty broth, fish, and veggies.

Let’s talk fish...you just can’t go wrong with it here. It is simply amazing. Ask for the daily fish if available and you won't believe how good it is.

Pane Cunzato is great classic with local fresh cheese, tomatoes, anchovies and oregano all stuffed inside an olive oil dripping panini.

Panella is another local classic, chickpeas fritters usually served on bread with salt, pepper, and lemon.

Arancini are a Sicilian speciality. Deep fried rice balls stuffed with ragù, peas and Caciocavallo cheese. In western Sicily they generally are in a conical shape to remind the shape of Etna volcano.

Ready for dessert? Cannolo, Cassata and Pasta di Mandorla just to name a few!

Local Eno-gastronomy

August and September are the best months to experience the wine making process. Lots of wine makers will open their wine cellars organising banquets and parties to celebrate the harvest season. You can experience from small local country style parties up to fancy tasting events of the largest wine producers.
